My teaching philosophy

At the heart of my teaching philosophy is the belief that every child possesses a unique musical voice, waiting to be discovered and nurtured. With a play-based approach, my Music&Movement classes encourage children to explore music and movement in a fun, creative, and engaging environment. I draw inspiration from the Kodaly method, a renowned music education philosophy that emphasizes the importance of singing, movement, and active participation in the learning process. By incorporating these elements into my classes, I believe that children can develop essential skills such as rhythm, coordination, and creativity while fostering a lifelong love of music. My teaching philosophy is based on the idea that music is a powerful tool for self-expression, creativity, and emotional development, and I am dedicated to helping each child unlock their full musical potential.

Music & Movement program

Through Music & Movement classes, children will develop essential listening skills that will help them better understand the elements of music such as melody, harmony, and rhythm. By actively listening to a variety of musical genres, children will become more attuned to the nuances of music and learn to appreciate the power of sound.

My program places a strong emphasis on beat and rhythm, two fundamental elements of music. Children will learn to keep a steady beat, play rhythms with various instruments, and improvise simple rhythms. By developing these skills, children will be able to participate in musical activities with greater confidence and ease.

Vocal timbre is another key element of music that is emphasis in my classes. Children will learn to sing with proper breath control and expression, and will also have the opportunity to experiment with different vocal timbres. By exploring the range of their own voice, children will discover the unique qualities of their own musical voice.

Movement is an essential part of music, and my Music & Movement classes incorporate movement into every lesson. Children will learn to move to the beat, dance to different rhythms, and improvise simple movement sequences. Through movement, children will learn to connect with music on a deeper level and develop a greater appreciation for the power of music to evoke emotions and tell stories.
